Episode Transcript

I'm Chris Shakib. I'm an  attorney in the state of Florida. I'm a partner in the law firm Terrell Hogan. I've been practicing for 32  years and we're here for the podcast, Not Another TV Lawyer. My name is Jessica Hall. I'm paralegal to attorney Chris Shakib. I've been a paralegal for over 25 years. I have a master's in law from Florida State Law School. I'm an attorney and I handle injury cases. There are a lot of attorneys that handle injury cases. The most common way people find out about attorneys who handle injury cases is they see them advertising on TV or we also see billboards, but that's not our firm. That's not how I practice. It's just different. We at Terrell Hogan really concentrate on people, quality, and representing people the way we think is necessary - an old fashioned way where people, when they call me, they can talk to me literally any day. The thing that I think separates us from a lot of other firms is when our clients call us, we know who they are. We don't have to say, what number is that, who is that file? Well, I know my files front to back. And Chris does as well. The purpose of the podcast is obviously want folks to know who we are and what we do, but it's not really just advertising. I mean, the reason that we want people to listen to it is because we want to talk about things that would help. Our limited series is going to be about auto crashes and we explain the process and the steps from being in an auto crash to getting medical treatment to exploring what happens before you file a lawsuit in your case. We explain how we try to settle your case ahead of time, and we walk everybody through the steps, and hopefully, they get information that they can find that's useful so that if they're ever in this situation, they know how to navigate or they call us and we'll be happy to help them navigate. I would say I'm more like the lawyer you see in movies from the 40s or 50s or 60s. I'm the lawyer down the street who lives in your neighborhood who you can talk to. Our firm is really passionate about helping people, and it's something that I take great pride in.
